Today, June 13th, 2023, they celebrate their 10th year since debuting as a band. If you are new to BTS, let me tell you a bit about them. The members are RM (Kim Namjoon), Suga (Min Yoongi), Jin (Kim Seokjin), J-Hope (Jung Hoseok), Jimin (Park Jimin), V (Kim Taehyung) and JK (Jeon Jungkook).
The music industry in South Korea is probably different from a lot of other places. Talented teens get scouted, sign to a label, get trained, and put together in groups. They will then debut at a showcase-like event.
This happened for BTS 10 years ago, with mixed results. If you want to know the whole story, a documentary series will be released sometime later this year on Disney+ titled “BTS Monuments: Beyond the Star.” In case you’re more of a book person, a book called “Beyond the Story: 10-Year Record of BTS” will be released in July.
After many ups and downs and even thoughts of disbandment in 2018, they are now on top of the (music)world, being the biggest K-pop band, biggest boy band, having the largest fan group (known as ARMY), and winning awards left and right. Even if you don’t listen to their music, you sure have heard about BTS.
On top of being outstanding musicians, they are also known for their extremely well-coordinated dancing and their down-to-earth personalities. All that can be seen when watching their variety show “Run! BTS” and their dance practice videos on the official BTS YouTube channel.
To celebrate with them, we put together our very own BTS playlist. You can listen to it on Spotify using this link:

While the first two are already serving their country, the remaining members are working hard on solo projects. Five of the seven members have released their solo albums already, with the two youngest to follow shortly. Hopefully, we will see them all back together in 2025.
We hope you will enjoy our first playlist. If so, there are many more to come! To not miss them, please sign up to our newsletter. Playlists will be a recurring feature there, including all kinds of genres. Spoiler alert: the following playlist will be VERY different from this one.
