If you live in Europe, you don’t have to travel to Rhinebeck to take part in a yarn festival this fall! Instead, head to the beautiful Swiss Canton of Vaud, where you can attend the first-ever MySwissMailles festival. While there, you can visit the medieval town of Orbe and sip on some local wines.
The First Yarn Festival In Romandie
MySwissMailles Festival, the first yarn festival in the French-speaking part of Switzerland, will take place on October 28th and 29th, 2023. The festival will be held at the Casino d'Orbe in Orbe, which is located in the lovely Swiss Canton of Vaud.
There will be over 40 exhibitors that include hand-dyed yarns from Switzerland, shops selling knitting and crochet accessories like project bags, stitch markers, needles, and other essentials, items for spinners and sewers, and even some hand-made jewelry and books.
Here, you’ll find a little bit of everything—truly a maker's dream.
Workshops Galore
Like most festivals, there will be several workshops to help you hone your skills. You can learn how to crochet, get better acquainted with Ravelry, knit socks, and so much more. There’s also a special workshop for children, where they will be able to learn how to soap-felt a character to put on top of a pencil.
Get Your Tickets Now
If you would like to participate in one of the workshops, tickets are now available; it’s recommended that you get them early because they may sell out, and there are limited spots.
Take a look at the MySwissMailles website, where you can browse the full catalog of workshops, explore the extensive list of vendors, and purchase tickets for the festival and workshops. You can also follow MySwissMailles on Instagram for more details about the upcoming yarn festival, and maybe I'll see you there!
