SPRING ROMANCE: FLORA SWEATER BY IRENE LIN

Updated: Jul 24, 2023

Irene Lin’s latest release is a sweater with a sweet and romantic feel called Flora. The piece is worked seamlessly from the top down and has raglan sleeves that form a twisted stitch detail that continues down the body’s sides. It has a cropped length that would look perfect paired with high-waisted pants or wide-leg jeans.

The high neck is made with a beautiful scalloped twisted stitch pattern. The same pattern is used for the cuffs and the hem, which are knit separately and later joined to the piece using the three-needle bind-off method. The body and the sleeves are mostly stockinette stitch, which makes a good balance of mindful and mindless knitting.

The pattern is available in 7 sizes, from 37 to 54.5” (94 to 138 cm). The sample piece has around 7.25” (18 cm) of ease, which means that it was designed to be worn oversized.

The pattern calls for a DK weight yarn in a solid color. The necessary yardage ranges from 1070 to 1761 yds (978 to 1610 m), according to the chosen size. Don’t forget to check out our yarn suggestions below.
