SUNSET CAMISOLE: A KNITTED TANK TOP BY SARI NORDLUND

Updated: Aug 25, 2023

Knitted tank tops in the summer are the absolute best! They are quick to knit up, and you can wear them instantly. Fortunately, a lot of knitwear designers are releasing more and more summer tops, which means there are tons of styles to choose from, so you don’t have to wait till fall to sport your hand knits.

When Sari Nordlund released the Sunset Camisole pattern a couple of months ago, it went straight to the top of my queue on Ravelry. If I could only knit one more summer tank before switching back to my winter projects, it would definitely be this one. I just love how minimalistic yet stylish it is.

What makes this knitted camisole stand out from the rest is its ruffle detail that goes across the front. This cami can be styled with shorts, pants, or skirts and easily dressed up or down, making it a wonderful addition to your handmade closet.

The Sunset Camisole is knitted seamlessly, in the round and top down. It is designed to have a slight A-line shape and features a stylish v-neck. The designer recommends using a linen blend, viscose, or cotton yarn, as these yarns will create a nice drape. There are nine sizes to choose from, with a finished bust circumference ranging from 74.5 cm to 155 cm. You will need between 410 meters and 880 meters of sport-weight yarn, depending on what size you choose to knit.

Another wonderful feature of this camisole pattern is that the designer created a YouTube tutorial video. It’s over an hour long and gives a little background of the design, ways to style the camisole, and helpful tips/tutorials for while you’re knitting it.

I can’t wait to cast on this stunning camisole; what about you?
